Molly and Tyson wedding; Mai is at Bates

TYSON EBERHARDT and MOLLY JAMIESON were married in Northern Michigan on August 11, 2012. They were joined on the shores of Lake Michigan and, more notably, the dance floor by many tigers including MIKE DIROLF and TODD JEAN-PIERRE (groomsmen), Katie Jamieson '00 and Becky O'Neill '07 (bridesmaids), and friends and family AARON  WEIL, DAVE UPPAL, JENN SAKIOKA, ROB GATI, KC Wade '11, NICK MACIUNAS, JOSH LOEHRER, EMILIE AGUIRRE, Meredith Kimball '07, Dave Rosen '07, MIKE KRATSIOS, Betty Cox '09, Dan Jamieson '74, Hugh O'Neill '74, Jody Friedman '74, Kevin O'Neill '75, and Nate Heavers '00.

MAI HINTON is Assistant Dean of Admission at Bates College. She started this position after completing an Ed.M. in Human Development and Psychology at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Two weddings on May 5th!

MOLLY KANTOR married Grant Strother '07 on May 5, 2012 near the bride's hometown outside of Philadelphia, PA. Molly and Grant then had a whirlwind month of May, traveling to Europe on their honeymoon, then back to Boston for Harvard graduation (Molly from medical school and Grant from law school), and finally ending back in Princeton for reunions! Molly and Grant have since moved to the Bay Area, where Molly is a resident in internal medicine at Stanford and Grant is working at a law firm. GREG SNYDER married Stephanie (Jacobs) Snyder ‘07 in Cambridge, MA on May 5, 2012. The reception was held at Boston’s Museum of Science. Joining the bride and groom for this pre-Reunions celebration were many Princetonians, including the bride’s parents Rev. Gregory A. Jacobs ‘74 and Mrs. Beverly Canzater Jacobs ‘75.  Other members of the class of 2008 were BRANDON VIGIL, ALMA MOEDANO, ELISSA FRANKLE, JOEL THOMPSON, ALAN BARNES, DAVE FORD, ARTI SHETH, JESSIE THOMPSON, DAVID ZASLAVSKY, and CINDI TEXTOR. Sarah and PJ got hitched! Mike is in Calgary

SARAH UNGER and PJ BIGGS got married on August 18th, 2012 in Roaring Gap, North Carolina.  More than 50 Princeton friends from ‘05, ‘06, ‘07, ‘08, ’09, ‘10 and ’11 traveled south to celebrate with a few mint juleps.  Members of the wedding party included DORIE GOLKIN, EMILY BALTER, NATALIA RODRIGUEZ, CLELIA ZACHARIAS, HAYLEY CROWELL, Pat Biggs '11, Alex Chiang '07, Mike Ott '07, Danny O'Connor '09, CHRIS D’AMBROSIA, RYAN DVORAK, and STAN BUNCHER.

The happy couple is living and working in Boston, and PJ is hard at work planning for our Gr’08 Gatsby 5th reunion with co-chair ALEX BROUSSEAU!

MIKE MOORE is back in Calgary and said he “currently has the pleasure of living with LANDIS STANKIEVECH. I am consistently turning off his lights after he leaves and he has not washed dishes once; however, the great late night conversations more than compensate for his deficiencies as a roommate.”

Mike spent an active summer up in the “great white north” (Canada). He is pictured left on a hike on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia with Cam MacIntyre '10 (center), and buddy Kelly Reynolds.

 

Lara got married!

LARA KLAINERMAN HOCHSTEIN got hitched on April 15, 2012 to Grant Hochstein (Stanford '07 and currently a resident in internal medicine at UCSD) at Scripps Forum in La Jolla, CA. Other alums in attendance included Lara’s brother, Ariel '07, her sister Leor '14, JESSICA MARATI, MILANA ZAUROVA, LOLA ADEKUNLE, ERIK ANDERSON and Juliet Moore ('09).

Graduate Schools Galore!

JON YEHUDA, ZACH SAVAGE and CHRIS OGLESBY are rising third-year law students at NYU Law. Jon said they “enjoyed spending the summer in New York while working (not too hard) at law firms, and are looking forward to a laid back third year of law school.”  While celebrating their 4th reunion, they ran into Troy McKenzie ’97, a professor at NYU Law, celebrating his 15^th (pictured).

ALANA ARNOLD graduated medical school and is working in Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital in Oakland, CA. Alana said she is learning “a ton if stuff and seeing lots of different pathology.”  Alana is pictured left with fellow alum Alicia Agnoli '05 on a midnight cruise on the Odyssey in May 2012 to celebrate graduation.

DORIE GOLKIN and REGINA LEE reconnected this summer through the Education Pioneers Fellowship program.  Dorie finished her first year at Wharton Business School and worked with Newark Public Schools this summer.  Regina spent the summer working with Uncommon Charter School’s Finance team, and will be going back to Columbia Business School in September.  Both ladies felt excited and fortunate to be part of a group of 78 students dedicated to propelling education reform across the US.

4TH REUNION

Reunions was a blast this year!  On the left, LIZ MALTA, MISAN IKOMI, ALANA ARNOLD and GABRIEL IVEY (l. to r). were hanging out at the P-Rade next to the 2008 sign. ANDRIA MIRABAL took the lead in marching in the P-rade on the shoulders of NICK COX. We can’t wait for our 5^th next year and our theme, “The Gr8 Gatsby”! This theme captured an impressive 60% of votes from our online class pole.

NATALIE ARCARIO MROZ and GREG MROZ were married in Orlando, Florida on May 27^th, 2012. They were thrilled to celebrate with many Princetonians, including their siblings Katie Arcario Clabby ’03 with her husband Jack Clabby ’02, Jackie Arcario Smith ’04 and her husband Spencer Smith ’04, Dave Mroz ’03 and his wife Becky Wein Mroz ’03. Wedding party included JO LANUS, MORGAN LEE, JON STEM, JOHN NIEHAUS, and Pete Ploszek ’09. Greg and Natalie are so thankful that so many tigers made the trip to join the celebration!

Classmates in NYC, DC and London

Since graduation, NOAH SAVAGE has played pro basketball, worked in reality TV, worked for a non-profit, and run a marathon.  He also did stand up comedy at clubs across New York City for about 3 years.  More recently, Noah has been working in commercial real estate brokerage at Jones Lang Lasalle.  He keeps himself busy during basketball season by providing color commentary on WPRB 103.3 for the Princeton Men’s team, as well as on Fios TV, where he is pictured right.  Noah said, “Tune in for some bball insight mixed with ‘jokes your dad would tell on a roadtrip’ style humor.  Twitter at yoitsthesav.  Holler.”

MEAGHAN PETERSACK is teaching 4th grade in Washington, D.C. Her home room “the Princeton Tigers” recently hosted children’s book author and University trustee, T.A. Barron. Her students learned about life as an author and the quests of fantastical characters, such as Merlin!  Meaghan will complete her four-year term as a Young Alumni Trustee this June.

PETKO PLACHKOV moved to London after graduation and lived with a number of Princetonians, including VITALIY ELBERT and John Scott Tate, while working at McKinsey. He also spent time in Singapore for work and travelled between Hong Kong and other parts of the region. While in Asia, Petko said he had ample opportunities to practice his past-time of windsurfing in Singapore and other regional spots. He is now back in London working for a UK-based PE firm called Resolution.

DEREK BROOKS proposed to ALISON WOOD on stage while their band, “Where’s Waldo,” was playing at reunions 2010 – with Alison as lead singer and Derek on the drums.  They were married on October 1, 2011 in Alison’s hometown of Canandaigua, New York. A slew of Tigers made the journey (left to right): Nate Medina ’06, MATT KONTOS (groomsman), Amelia Medina ’07, Gray Reinhard ’06, Kathleen Miller ’07, Katie White ’07, ROBBIE MORGENROTH (groomsman), Justin Oppenheimer ’07, Meghan Oppenheimer ’07, Laura Berner ’07, Pamela Testani ’07, Matt Wong ’09, Juliana Simon ’07, Dasha Koroleva ’07, Gaby Barahona ’07, Eli Goldsmith ’04, WALTER HOPKINS, as well as KYLE MCHUGH, a groomsman who is not pictured.

The Blaire Reinhard Band, one of Princeton’s favorite bands that often plays at reunions, played at the reception. Several Tigers made musical appearances during the ceremony and reception including: Laura Berner, Matt Wong, Walter Hopkins, Gray Reinhard, and Derek (the groom) on the drums.

ELIZABETH DALMUT is a 2^nd year law student at George Washington University Law School. This summer, she will be working in the Litigation Department at Kirkland & Ellis in Washington, DC. Elizabeth is excited to be representing GW at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Competition in Hong Kong next year.  She is also keeping up her softball skills, and is an active member of GW's slowpitch softball team.

Ashley and Johnny Got Married on a Mountain! Martin and Kent Travel through Thailand

ASHLEY BEYERS and JOHNNY ARIGONI were married in Vail, Colorado on August 20^th, 2011.  The ceremony was outside and the reception was held at the ski lodge at the top of the gondola (guests rode to and from the wedding).  After the wedding, Ashley and Johnny headed to Italy and Switzerland to backpack for a couple of weeks, and they are now living in Denver.  They had several Princetonians in their wedding party: MIKE CACCHIO, TOM MCKAY, CHARLETON DESASSURE, MAREN DALE, DIANA MATHESON, and ZACH BECKMANN, who read during the service.  John Arigoni ’71 (Johnny's dad) and Don Kirkpatrick ’71 were also there to celebrate, along with other Tigers up through the Class of 2012!

MARTIN JANCIK (pictured left) and KENT KURAN (pictured right) visited the Uthai Thani province in Central Thailand to donate much needed supplies to a school following a flood.  They traveled there as part of the Bangkok-based Tractus Company, which was co-founded by John Evans ’91 (pictured center with his wife Kwan).  Tractus’ team donated computers, books, backpacks, and other items to a school with 36 students across all ages.  Then they all played a friendly game of soccer and planted trees.

Amber Gets Married; Broomicorns Defeated in Overtime

AMBER (Wedges) BERRY married Adam Berry ’09 on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at their church in Bedford Hills, NY.  They were blessed to celebrate with many Princeton friends: CHRISTINE GALIB and Samara Penn ’07 were bridesmaids; Brian Anderson ’09, Barry Newell ’09 and Trey Peacock ’11 were groomsmen; FRANCINE SAUNDERS was a scripture reader and Danny Scotton ’10 was their reception DJ.  Other ’08 classmates pictured include ALICE ABROKWA, KAREN BAILEY, BRYANT BLOUNT, JOHN “JT” TRAVIS and SEAN HAMMER.   ’09ers pictured include Veneka Chagwedera, Veronica Demtchouk, Tom Hurley, Matt Koch, Jonathan Lee, Bianca Love, Tom Methvin, Rachel Okunubi, Steve Sims and Will Thanheiser.

The couple honeymooned in Jamaica and then settled in their new home in New York on the Upper West Side.  Amber is the Assistant Department Chair of World Language and a middle school French teacher at an independent school in Connecticut and Adam works in finance in the city.

In August, DAN PALL amassed a broomball team full of Princetonians and friends from Washington, DC.  These upstart "Broomicorns" attended the inaugural running of the First State Broomball Invitational - a six-team, coed tournament held at the University of Delaware.  Despite showing up wholly unprepared and lacking in equipment, experience, and knowledge of many of the rules of broomball, the Broomicorns soared majestically to the tournament finals, where they defeated a travel team from Washington, DC in a thrilling overtime battle.  The Broomicorns included Dave Stopher, KATIE LAWRENCE, TOMMY CURRY, DAN PALL, Andrew Boddorff, Greg Esser, NATE MORRISON, Matt Morrison, Jason Leo, GORDON FRANKEN, Joe Ulerich, CARY MACRAE, and Holly Mcgarvie '09.

Hiking to Machu Picchu

AMRUTA NORI-SARMA finished her Masters in Environmental Health Policy from Columbia's Mailman School of Public Health in December 2011, and plans to stay at Columbia as a Research Assistant. Amruta's research focuses on climate change impacts on air pollution and cardiovascular mortality. She recently co-wrote a paper on Environmental Justice and current air pollution regulations with the Director of Columbia's Climate and Health program.  The paper was published by the Joint Center for Economic and Political Studies, and a copy of the paper is available at http://www.jointcenter.org/research/white-paper-health-and-economic-benefits-of-clean-air-regulations. Amruta also enjoys her volunteer efforts through the New York Junior League, where she has been a member since last June.

KRISTEN MOLLOY recently moved to NYC after living in Chicago for three years.  In Chicago, she worked on supporting and evaluating charter schools at the Office of New Schools, where she was placed as a Project 55 Public Interest fellow.  Kristen then traveled in Europe and South America and ran several half marathons. Her favorite travel experience was hiking the trail to Machu Picchu, where she and Amruta are pictured. Kristen also loved hiking the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland, seeing the Gaudi architecture in Barcelona, and tasting the cuisine in each region she visited.  Kristen is now working in the education sector in New York City.

Alex and Bob got married!

ALEX TULLY married BOB SCHNEIDER on October 8th, 2011 in Princeton, NJ.  The ceremony was held at the Princeton University Chapel, and there were a number of Princeton friends there to celebrate, including LIZ BERGOLD and ELLIE FORD as bridesmaids and ALEX BERG, ZACK GOLDBERG and KEITH SHATTENKIRK as groomsmen.  Alex’s cousin Maddie Copeland – a future Princetonian admitted to the Class of 2016 – was also a bridesmaid. Also in attendance were: Carly Adams (’09), Marjorie Adams, KAREN AHERNE, ASHLEY ARIGONI, JOHNNY ARIGONI, LEANNE BELLAR, JAKOB DEITCH, MIKE GAUDIO, EVAN MAGRUDER, TRENT MAGRUDER, Collin McCarthy (’09), JANNA MCLEOD, COURTNEY MILLEN, Tim Novick (’10), Erik Pridham (’09), Christian Read (’07), PAIGE SCHMIDT, Greg Seaman (’09), Rich Sgalardi (’09), Marya Stansky (’09), PETER STREIBEL, John Wachter (’05), and TEDDY WOLFSON.  After their honeymoon in Napa Valley, Alex and Bob moved out to Boulder, Colorado.

The Weather Guy Got Hitched!

RYAN “The Weather Guy” TRUCHELUT married Erica Staehling *09 on August 7th, 2011 in Baltimore, MD.  The bowling alley reception – replete with 90s pop rock and ample glow sticks – was by all accounts an extremely zany affair featuring many '08 luminaries, including usher BRIAN EXTEIN, SEFFY MULLER, KEREN GLINERT, JON ULLMAN, HILARY VAUGHN DOBEL, LAUREN BARNETT, THOMAS DOLLAR, NATE MORRISON, MAGGIE ORR, ALEXANDRA RITTS, DAN PALL, and EMILY FARLEY. The happy couple is enjoying married life at their new home in Tallahassee, FL.  Erica directs a science education community outreach program for Florida State University, making use of her Master of Atmospheric Science from Princeton.  Ryan works as a forecaster for an agricultural commodities trading firm while pursuing a doctorate in meteorology.

PATRICIA LI went to China for two weeks in October to sightsee and visit family in a multi-city tour spanning Beijing, Harbin and Shanghai. In Beijing, she ran up the steps to Tower 8 at the Mutianyu portion of the Great Wall (pictured). In Shanghai, Patricia split her time between walking on Wai Tan (the Bund) and tourist shopping at Yuyuan (Jade Garden). She said, “it was a great time and very interesting to see how much China has developed.”
